A personal practice,
by design

For more than three decades, I have represented individuals, businesses, investors, developers and lenders throughout Key West and the Florida Keys in sophisticated real estate, business and commercial transactions. As an AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, my practice is intentionally personal and hands-on. Clients work directly with me, and I remain actively involved from the beginning of a matter through its completion.

My real estate practice covers virtually every aspect of residential and commercial real estate, including acquisitions and sales, title insurance and closings, commercial leasing, institutional and private lending, construction and development, condominiums, zoning, land use and regulatory matters.

I represent buyers, sellers, property owners, developers, investors and lenders in transactions ranging from relatively straightforward purchases to complex commercial projects requiring creative structuring and extensive negotiation.

My business and corporate practice is similarly broad and includes business formations, acquisitions and sales, shareholder and operating agreements, joint ventures, financing arrangements, employment and consulting agreements, and the negotiation and preparation of a wide variety of commercial contracts. I also serve as outside general counsel and regularly advise boards of directors of both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

After decades of practicing in Key West, I also bring something to a matter that cannot be learned from a statute book: an extensive working knowledge of the Florida Keys real estate market, business community and local governmental process. I have substantial experience with zoning, planning, development and regulatory matters and have appeared extensively before local boards, agencies and governmental bodies.

A personal practice does not mean practicing in isolation. When a matter requires specialized expertise or resources beyond my practice, I draw upon longstanding relationships with top-tier national and regional law firms, providing my clients with the counsel they need while I remain personally involved throughout the resolution.

Whether I am handling a real estate closing, structuring a business acquisition, negotiating a commercial lease, documenting a loan or helping a client navigate a complicated land-use issue, my approach is the same: understand the client’s objective, identify the practical issues early, and find the most effective way to get the transaction accomplished.

One attorney, from first contact through resolution.
